Pink is suddenly the color in kitchens. It all started in 2001 with a pink KitchenAid stand mixer ($300; right). Each purchase included a donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, launching KitchenAid’s Cook for the Cure initiative, which has raised more than $5 million. Now there’s a whole line of Cook for the Cure products, including:
- a five-speed blender ($130)
- a pair of silicone-tipped tongs ($10)
- a mixing-bowl set ($25)
- a can opener ($15)
- a five-piece knife set ($50)

KitchenAid’s Cook for the Cure contines to donate at least 10 percent of every purchase to Susan Komen. Target even carries some of the KitchenAid products.
Other lines have jumped on the pink bandwagon with an array of kitchen gear, including:
- a Farberware tea kettle ($35)
- Bialetti’s Cook for Cure eight-piece nonstick cookware set ($60; below)
- a Cuisinart coffeemaker ($60; left)
- a sleek Dualit toaster ($320)
- an Escali personal scale ($30)
- the Dirt Devil broom vacuum ($49)
Perhaps the ultimate pink statement is the Big Chill pink retro refrigerator ($2,695).
Pink lemonade, anyone?
