We visited one called “Rebate Tracking” and appreciated a member’s warning to the community that CompUSA makes its rebates to customers via Visa debit cards rather than via checks — a fact not mentioned in its ads and not appreciated by the posting member.

Coupons and Promotional Codes

Does this sound familiar? You’re checking out at your favorite online retailer, about to confirm the details of your latest purchase, and a little box appears asking if you have a “promotional code” or “coupon code” or “discount code.” If only, you think, not realizing that the codes are not for some exclusive group of lucky shoppers but are actually readily available to all who seek them.

Both Deal Hunting and Fat Wallet post updated lists of codes for your convenience, and Current Codes is yet another site devoted to making them known. The home page highlights the “Most Recent Codes,” for example: “$30 off Nikon Coolpix” camera at Dell Home. Nifty, especially if you were actually planning to buy a digital camera.

You can browse for codes by merchant or merchandise category. Even if there aren’t any codes for the store you’re going to, there are often links to that merchant to get you free shipping or a discounted price.
