It’s not even a question when it comes to the bathroom window. Of course you want to cover up. But how to still get light into the room? One solution with a growing array of updated options: decorative film that you can use to “frost” your window. These films now come in pebble, rice paper, stained glass, geometric and mosaics (like the pattern shown here bySolyx). Sold by decorativefilms.com. Price varies starting at about $15 a linear foot for 3-foot-wide film. Comes with DIY directions.

Well Suited

Tahari Suit Nordstrom is touting its suits for spring. Regardless of where this trendlet may originate, these outfits definately won’t make you look desperate or housewifely. Suiting up never seemed so curvaceous or stylin’. Black remains the dominant color, but the lines are all over the place. There’s something in these collections for those who like it snug or boxy or long, loose and draped. Tahari striped suit in khaki and white; $498, plus $5 flat fee shipping.

See more inspired widgets at Wrapables, a sharp new entry among gift-finder websites. Wrapables promises to ferret out “distinctive, creative and modern home decor” not easily found in the usual chain stores. Scores include a dachshund paper towel dispenser and pirahna fish floss holders. Cute.

Spring beckons, but squirrels have shredded your old patio furniture? Refresh with this rustic log bench by Blue Ridge Log Works in Colorado. Sure it works in a mountain cabin, but it also keeps pace with the new Hill Country look overtaking the Southwest, and certainly would be at home on the Chesapeake too. Authentic and affordable for hand crafted furniture ($590), it’s also environmentally friendly. No live trees are cut to make it. Cushions available for modern cowboys with tender tushies.
