Poaching eggs rarely pops up on the list of fun things to do. Neither does trussing a chicken, or making ice cubes. And flipping bacon rarely elicits giggles. Fusionbrands‘  brightly colored, stylish silicone products could turn mundane kitchen duties into conversation starters.  The stuff is flexible, rubbery, heat-resistant to 675 degrees, dishwasher safe and, well, cute. Their poach pods (above) first caught our eye. They are lovely and float in boiling water to easily poach eggs. Two are $10.

The orange “tenderpress” (above left) to flatten or tenderize meat without pounding or stabbing or having chicken bits fly everywhere, $18. The “foodloop“ (15 inches long, $10, above right),”foodloop mini” (10 inches long, $4), “foodloop flame” (it can withstand up to 2,012 degrees on the grill, $19) and the “foodloop lace” (22 inches long, $10, below left) can bind, truss, close or sew up anything from leeks to tamales to a chicken or a petite appetizer.

The “Lovehandle” is a modern-looking kitchen grip that also doubles as a place to put your spoon while cooking. It’s $9 (below right).

“Fingertongs” look like snazzy duck bills you slip your hands into in order to flip a burger or bacon,  $16. There’s also the “cookhook” magnetic towel hook ($6) that you can hang in plain sight and the “why didn’t someone think of this earlier” silicon “cupcooley” that slips over your Starbucks cup (and you can reuses, of course), $4 (below left).

One of our favorites is the “iceorb” - a futuristic looking “vertical ice cube tray and bucket” with little protruding bubbles that hold the round cubes.
