Pssst. . . . CW’s Gossip Girl (it’s on tonight at 8 EST) has girls - and ladies - everywhere going gaga over uniform chic.  

Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf  - the gorgeous gals of the 212 -  transform their hoity-toity Manhattan private-school uniforms into fashion works of art, and that’s prompting stores across the country to roll out school uniform-inspired looks, from crested blazers to pleated and plaid skirts.  

Get in on the fun with Forever 21’s satin trim blazer with removable embroidered patch ($34.80, above). A closer look at the pin reveals the word “Fashion” under the crest. Perfect!  Pair it with the Lindsay striped pleated skirt ($22.90) and a bright pair of tights (trust us, the Gossip Girls sport a rainbow of hues when it comes to leg coverings).  

Over at Delias.com, the heather gray “Blair” preppy cardigan with gold buttons and white-striped armband ($44.50, above right) would pair nicely over the “Lena” plaid mini ($34.50, above left).  (Whether the length on that plaid mini passes the headmaster’s glance remains to be seen.) Another option with that plaid mini is Alloy’s pinstripe blazer with removable pins on the cuffs ($47.60, below).

Dress up your “uniform” just like Blair and Serena with a funky overcoat. Houndstooth seems to be one of the gals’ favorite prints, so try the Coffee shop coat with a fun black-and-white print ($98) and you’ll be part of the clique in no time.

The classic preppy style has never left Ralph Lauren’s lineup, but even he is giving a nod to the school uniform look, with this short plaid wrap mini (above), all yours if you’re on a Gossip Girl’s budget: $1,498.
