You’ve heard the saying that fashion is cyclical, right? Case in point: First bell-bottom jeans were hot, then baggy jeans, then flared jeans, then skinny jeans . . . and now: We’re back to baggy. And if you’re a slave to Katie Holmes’ fashion sense, pegged jeans, too (photo from People.com).
Fashionable femme fatales around Hollywood are sporting the chic but sorta shabby, extra-roomy look. Everyone from Heidi Klum (photo from FabSugar.com) to Victoria Beckham to Amanda Peet has been spotted out and about wearing “boyfriend” jeans, as they’re affectionately dubbed (because that’s what you might have to wear home after a night at your boyfriend’s house).

Amazingly complimentary for most figures (Read: easily disguises a little extra weight in the rear or upper thighs), the jeans style is conveniently popping up in stores everywhere. The Levi’s 501 Boyfriend cut jeans will do the trick if you buy them a few sizes too big ($68, above left). At Abercrombie & Fitch, the Emma Boot Destroyed jean is a ringer for Holmes’ look ($89.50, above center) if you roll ‘em up. True Religion’s Bella Big T jeans at Saks Fifth Avenue look extra comfy (above, right). (They oughta be for $284!) The Truck Jeans Berlin Trousers at Alloy.com are a nice bargain at $44.50 and come in a variety of rinses like vintage, blue and black. Over at Barneys, try the J Brand High Rise Della jean ($222) or the Gold Sign Orchid jean for a bargain $69 (left), marked down from $198.
