Sweeper Dresses Sweep In
Blogged under Apparel, Shopperati by Barbara Kessler on Thursday 31 May 2007

Hollyscoop reports that with summer right around the corner,  “mini’s are taking a backseat to floor sweeping dresses.” The shopperati site says Mini’s are still going to be way hot, “but floor length boho style dresses are going to be huge this summer. Wear This Slogan

English designer T-shirt brand Queen of Suburbia is expanding into the U.S. The company says frequent mentions in the shopperati blogosphere inspired the English fashion house to bring its T-shirt line — featuring slogans such as “Idol Gossip,” “Flattery Operated,” “Over the Hilton” and “Shoes Life” — to U.S. earlier than they expected to. QoS says Shopperati blogs like just my cup of tea and the The Budget Fashionista are now as important as the weekly and monthly glossies in shaping fashion opinion. QoS has enjoyed European success with slogan t-shirts originally sparked by creator Danni Tomkinson’s observations of the politics among mothers in the school playground. Queen of Suburbia T-Shirts are available for shipping to both Europe and now the USA exclusively at queenofsuburbia.com.

Trends: One Is the Only Number

What’s your desert-island colour? To put it another way, if everything you bought had to be limited to just one hue, what would it be? Very soon, fashion will be asking us all to make that choice - and fill our wardrobes with (deep breath) clothes and accessories that match exactly.

Help Dad connect to his geeky side this Father’s Day by gifting him with a techno-cool Honeywell Barometric Weather Forecaster. It features a wireless remote sensor with a 100-foot range, a 24-hour barometric pressure history chart and large graphical weather forecasting icons (sunny, cloudy, rainy, etc.). The forecaster monitors temperature and humidity in up to three remote locations. And it has an atomic clock that never requires resetting. What more could Dad want?

There are always interesting new arrivals landing at Karmaloop, such as this PJ racer-back tank from Paul Frank. The henley buttoned front has pink piping along the top and “Fair” — hey, for whatever reason — printed on the lower right hem. It’s 95% cotton and 5% spandex for that stretchy-huggy look.
