Some things never go out of style. The years may come and go, and trends will call for skinny pants one year, wide-legged ones the next. But there are certain pieces of apparel or accessories that looked great 20 years ago, and they’ll look great in 2027 (if you take care of them, that is).

To aid you in finding that “perfect” gift for a loved one, the collective fashion braintrust at Shopperati World Headquarters has put on its holiday thinking cap to offer suggestions for a gift that will keep on giving.

We’ve come up with 10 perfect fashion items for women. Call us sexist, but that’s just the way things worked out. A comparison peek into a woman’s closet vs. a man’s will generally support our theory that women have more, well, stuff than men.

A caveat: There are certain classic wardrobe elements for women — the perfect little black dress, a high-quality pair of well-tailored dressy pants (black) and equally excellent khakis, an elegant and feminine-style white button-down shirt, a slim skirt (again, probably black), perfectly fitted jeans — that belong in every style-conscious woman’s closet. But those things are tough to buy as gifts. They require thought and input from the recipient, and could lead to a sigh of disappointment under the Christmas tree.

That said, some of our list of 10 classics might be a little tricky without the gift-ee trying them on for size, but go ahead and give it a shot. She can always exchange it for the right size.

And consider yourself warned: These things aren’t classics because they’re inexpensive. If you want to buy the real deal for your lady, be ready to open up the wallet. If the prices are too daunting, consider looking around for similar styles in lower price ranges at other major apparel retailers.
