Vera Wang Courtney Cox wears Chanel. Beyonce has been seen around with Louis Vuitton. Angelina Jolie plays the field with Dior, St. Laurent, Ferragamo and more. Heidi Klum shimmers in Dita (well, when doesn’t she shimmer, dammit?), and Katie Holmes throws an A-list party with Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana, Kors and Armani. And we’re all over Celebrity Sunglass Finder, a site dedicated to finding out just what the stars are wearing Here are the Ray Ban Clubmasters, for instance ($104 at Best Buy Eyeglasses), and here’s Ashlee Simpson heading out for the day in them (above left). She also worships the Wayfarers (red ones in this case, above right), which are ubiquitous enough to have their own Wikipedia entry (no, we refuse to mention Risky Business. Get over it. But we will show you a picture of Drew Barrymore wearing the same shades, at right, which are $139 at Bloomie’s).
Eva is Eva Jeanbart Lorenzotti, left, and she may just be the most tasteful, eclectic woman on the face of the planet. Or at least on the Web. Her site, Vivre (which means “life”), is an amazing amalgamation of fantastic items for men, women, kids, the home or gifts. You’ll have to shop around it to believe us. And you’ll have to be pretty rich to buy anything. But window shopping is fun, too.
As her site humbly declares, Vivre is a showcase of items that are “deemed to be relevant, inspiring and exquisitely crafted.” Which means if it shows up here, you should have it, or at least covet it. She fleshes out her picks with ideas and advice and if you’re already familiar with it, you must be one of the beautiful people.
But there is more to it, even though the site has only been around a few months, and the vibe is clearly “probably a bit cooler-than-thou.”
Thinking about holiday gift shopping online? Remembering that feeling of exhaustion and confusion among the gazillion choices? We’ve heard about one site that can ease your cluttered mind. It’s called Multiple Choice. It only sells one thing at a time. And when that one thing is gone, the site will find another thing to sell. Talk about minimalist.
Are you a slavish devotee of cutting- edge design and décor for the home or office? Do you want to find others of your kind? Design Addict beckons. In addition to having links to virtually every trendy design house you can think of, and long lists of objects you can search for, their blog is a guaranteed way to get hip to the latest in design of all kinds. Are you stuck in a teeny tiny apartment or squeezed walk-up? Too bad winter’s coming and you can’t sit in front of a warm comfy fireplace. Good things the fine folks at Carl Mertens have been busy being creative. This one’s short and sweet. Go to Net-a-Porter and look around. Beautiful designer clothes and accessories at beautiful designer prices. A red Christian Lacroix gown for $2,930 here, a skin-tight green Herve Leger for $1,590 there. If only. Now, go to Theoutnet.com. Sign in. When the site goes live, they’ll inform you. What is Theoutnet? The soon-to-be-launched bargain basement little sister of Net-a-Porter. The discount daughter for designer duds. The future home of fabulous finds for a whole lot less. You’re welcome. |
