Add some creepy curb appeal

If you start clicking now, you just might be able to order a big, new, spooky, fancy frightening item or two for the front yard to scare all the neighborhood hobgoblins. Remember, bigger is better when it comes to Halloween decor.

Inflatables are the quickest way to make a sinister statement. Turn your entryway into something really hair-raising with a 9-foot-tall inflatable mortuary archway ($119). Kids will love crawling through the inflatable haunted house with spooky sounds and lighting ($297, above). What could say “Fright Night” better than this Frankenstein monster cooking up a witch ($90)?

Animatronic figures are spooktacular. Trick-or-treaters will run screaming when they’re greeted by the rise-from-the-grave Grim Reaper, which sits up to and bellows, “Welcome to my graveyard!”; it can be triggered by either sound or remote control ($39). This animated “Hex” prop is pretty scary, perhaps may be more than the little ones can stand. Other spooky figures include life-sized mummy statues ($113 or $130) or the standing ghost with flashing eyes, skull, and skeleton hands (black $129 or white $113, above). Then there’s this ghoulish life-size witch with a fogging cauldron ($150). You might also want to park a 6-foot collapsible coffin ($35) on the porch and either pop in the aforementioned skeleton or this ghoulish vampire with light-up eyes ($60, left).

If your house has the windows for it, the Sinister Sid or Green Demon window decals add to your sense of doom and gloom (each on sale for $19, above left, right).

For extra spine-chilling curb creepiness, stoke up a copper cauldron with fogger ($299), plant a spooky hollow tree and grass with lights ($129 and $199) or pop up this holographic light-up skeleton gate (on sale for $40, below).

And for the little ones, who could resist the not-scary Peanuts “It’s the Great Pumpkin” yard art ($90)?
